The coldest day of the year ― of any age or country I believe, verily. ― Rose at 8. Got together a lot of things for Palestine. ― Went to Taylor’s, & with Shakespeare to his house. Back, & then Mr. Campbell came & looked at drawings. I worked a little at the Janina ― but not much.
Nice letter from S.W. Clowes. ― Wrote part of one to him. At 2½ ― Campbell came again, & we went ― Giorgio also ― to Kastania. (C. returned at the 2nd mile.) G. & I went on to the Zia’s house ― very fine view. Then we came back ―, but the cold was absolutely frightful. Clear & gold & blue & crimson ― notwithstanding. Home by 6.
