Gray ― half-sunny day. Rose at 7 καὶ ἒκαμα τὰ λοιπὰ τῶν μαθημάτων μου διότι θὰ ἔλθη αὔριον ὁ καινούριος διδάσκαλος μου.1 Then worked at the Philae picture, sending notes to various folk ― asking them to come. At 1 Col. & Mrs. Herbert came; pleasant people ― & T. Bunsen, ― afterwards Col. Ormsby. ― Later Ponsonby & Curzon ― with whom I walked to Potamó & round the same round as yesterday. P. professing fatigue. ―
Dined alone. Εγευμάτισα μονοχῶς• δηλαδὴ — δὲν ᾔταν κανεὶς νὰ μοῦ συντροφέση.2 ―
The accounts of the Corinth Earthquake are sadly true.
