Morning quite bright & with little wind. Heaps of people kept arriving: ― at the last, English & Americans. ― Out of port by 8½. Vessel rolled & pitched. Breakfast difficile.1 Passed most of the day on deck. Friend of A.P. Stanley’s ― his Dragoman ― thoughts of going straight to Petra. ― Calmer sea. ― Dinner at 4½ ― a Pole &c. ― Nations or Languages ― 19 on board. Bright moonlight. ― Walking about. ― Berth in small room unbearable ― moved at 11 to 2nd class room. ― Slept very well.
