X10. ―― Well a day! ― its hard work.
Rose at 7 ― & penned out till breakfast. Foggy & dark. ― Finer afterwards. Dear good Ellis Ashton came! ―― then drew at the Palestine watercolour drawings till 3½ ― when Ch. Church came & staid till 6. ― Then having arranged all for Ann, I went down to the [O&C] club. Church, Walrond, & Dr. Ogle ― a very pleasant dinner, wine, & smoking party ― the like of wh. I have not enjoyed as much for a long time. ―― At 12 returned. ― Ann is come, as I find by a note. Day fine.
