Fine ― but gray ― & coldish. Wrote & drew ― after breakfast till 2. At 2½ went with H.H. ― by short cuts through a world of new streets & cabbage gardens ― till we came to Fulham ― (days of the Edward Blackmores! ―) by the Bishop’s walk. Poi1 ― Πουτνη2 ― & then Mrs. Cameron ― meeting Mr. C. by the way. Mrs. C. is a very singular woman ―: a pleasant 2 hours there ― during which Miss C. & her bethroted ― Norman ― came in. I sang some songs. ― Mrs. C.’s account of the Somers’s ― & of A.T.’s fuss at the Κρισταλ Παλας3 ― is curious. We came away at 5.45 ― & then rail to W. Bridge. Then we dined at Simpson’s in the Strand ― a good roast beef & ale only, & oh! to see the little wheeling tables with assiduous carvers! ― Then a bus to Kensington & home. & Tea ― & talk. Really, Daddy Hunt is a wonderful fellow.
