X3. It is no longer cold but gray & wet. ― Wrote some Eastern Journal before breakfast ― 3rd Greek lesson afterwards. Then painted pretty regularly at Masada all day long ― from 11 to 4 ― cioè. ― Bright, Stewart, & S.W.C. coming walked with the latter on the Pincian. Called on Mr. Hay, where was Lord S. de R. At 7 ― dined there ― 6 foreigners ―― Col. Percy the only English ― & the 2 Miss Cannings.1 Afterwards a heap of people. I fled at 10. These things weary me.
