Bright, & somewhat warmer, yet bitterly cold, as is evident from their having fires all day.
Rose at 5 ― & began to write at 5½: all the last journals of Ἄγιος Ὄρος. ― Letters from C. Church, J. Blencowe, & Scrivens. ― Breakfast after which, all went out ― & I wrote all day till 3. Then I called on Mrs. Croft & Miss Law, & Mrs. Curry ― & walked with Mrs. H. Hunt to the Coombe, a hollow valley. ―
Returned ― but how cold! to dine. ―
Evening slow, ― Miserable account from Italy. ―
