Greek Xmas day1 so Διδάσκαλος did not come. Rose at 7. Worked harder than usual ― at Lord Clermont‘s Athos ― & all day ― till 4½. Campbell called, & the Elliots. ― Walked the usual round alone. At 7 to the Palace. Lord & Lady Headfort & Miss Soskine, & Powys & Lady Bowen. Lady Headfort’s jewels &c. ― Powys sang ― and I, & Lady Bowen ― & Lady Young a very beautiful Irish song ― Owen O’Neil2 ― wonderfully beautiful.
