No διδάσκαλος. But I rose at 5¾ & did a passage of Ξενοφων. ― A dreary cold rainy (!!) morning. ― Worked pretty well all day at the Lord Clermont Athos. ― At 4, went to Citadel, & called on the Shakespeare’s.
Afterwards sat with Lady Reid.
Indian news ― Havelock dead. ―
Home by 6¼. At 6½ Lushington came. ―
Talk of Socrates, Plato, Aristotle &c. ― a better evening than for some time past, with him.
