Went in a cab at 10 to Seymour St. Carrying with me Lady W.’s pictures & all oil affairs.
Then Dickenson came ― & took away canvasses & frames, & I packed on till 4 ― hard work: ― sending carpets ― books &c. &c. &c. to be forwarded to Rome. Then I walked to Foord’s ― (the weather is now tho’ dry, immensely cold:) ― & afterwards to the Bethells in Eaton Square ― where I saw Lady B. ― Ellen & Gussie. Then called on Mrs. Sartori‘s ― out ― & then walked back to Tor Villa. R. Martineau dined with us ― a kind good fellow. Penned out till nearly 12. ― H. much disturbed about A.M.: ― I hardly know how it will end.
