Letter from Clowes ― & I nearly resolve to go on at once to Rome. Finished Gibbs’s drawings. Sorting papers & sketches: & clearing out. Wrote to many. Gradually I resolve to give up the visits. ―― At 3 went to various shops: ― & at 5 cab to 1. Trafalgar Square. Fanny C. & the sons. ― A not unpleasant evening ― but I was sleepy. The cold is intense. Home by 10. ― Wrote a long letter to J.B. Edwards. My cold somewhat better today.
