Cold & bright ― but not with such a dreadful wind. ―Worked, at intervals ― at B. H. Hunt’s Beirut & Petra. J. Uwins came, then Pizzerani ―: then Sir George Lee ― a fearful bore always, then S.W.C. which was a blessing after much evil. Then I drew, & then upholstering again, & so on. Giorgio hung the pictures in the “showroom.” Wrote to Shakespeare & Spiro Κοκάλι. ― At 5.30 went to the Belli Arti ―& dined with P.W. ― talk of Romans in general. Came home to Café ― & wrote to Mr. Edwards. Sate with S.W. C. till 10. ―
