Rose at 7 ― but sleepy ever. Bright & fine, ― but, to what purpose, as far as I am concerned? ―
Greek lesson ― tho’ I should think Λασκαρατος is becoming desperate, & will soon go. ― Wrote to F.L. ― to Lady Waldegrave, ― to Dickenson, & to Drummonds ― at various hours in the day. At 12 various folk came.

― And when they went, I resolved to discontinue these public days. ― So I cleared out the rooms, & went & bought 2 Easels of Mdme Hayard ― & arranged everything differently. I packed Lady Waldegrave’s paintings also, ― & the 21 drawings.
And at 7 ― I walked round the Pincian, & dined solus. ―
