Vecchia by 2: The Alban hills ― gray as the day was ― were pretty: but how little have I seen of the country at Rome in 1859! Getting the last room to be had, I achieved passports, & places before George came, after wh. we walked out of the city. Poor fellow! How glad he is to be away from that prison! ― a table d’hôte at 6. ― & to bed early ― at 9.30.
