Rose at 5 ― & worked at writing out Jerusalem Journals, & wrote to F.L. ― Maclean, ― Hansen &c. ― At 9.20 very painful prayers, but in no case could the most cantankerous ἄνθρωπος deny that the whole Blencowe family are truly good & pious people.
Breakfast ― with Mrs. B. ― & Miss H. Amusing details of the Traherne fête ― singularly absurd. ― Worked at writing, & making an Alphabet for little Blencowe. ― Lunch, Lady Elphinstone, Mrs. H. & Miss H. ―
Worked & wrote till 3 ― or 4. Day always lovely ― though cold.
Walk out with Mr. B. ―
Dinner.
