Rose at 5½ ― & finished writing out all the 1858 journals. Letters from Emily T. ― Sir J. Reid, & Maclean. ―
Breakfast poor dear Admiral! ――
Little Frank Denison left: a very extremely nice lad. ―
Wrote again ― & alas! X1
Then, at 1 ― Lunch: ― & afterwards wrote to Ann, Mrs. Bell, & F. Lushington. ― Later, after talking with Lady H. & waiting till a shower was over, ― walked up Compton Down ― & thought how 30 years ago I had been there with J. Sayres, ― & later with Phipps Hornby: all the green hills were the same ― but they were gone.
Plovers ― . ― Came back at 5, & talked with the Admiral. Young Frank D. came back, on leave, unexpectedly. ―
Dinner ― & evening, all pleasant. ―
