Rose at 5½ ― & wrote the “Ramleh.” ― At 7 breakfast, & ponychaise to Cooxbridge. Rail to town by 10. ― Foord’s, the Petra frame &c. Hansens ― Drummond’s ― Bickers Farrants ― [Dulacs] &c. And to Stratford Place N° 15. At 3½ to Gresham Street, & saw Willie & Geoff N. ― Ralph ― a very nice boy: Mary ― & Guy. ― Wonderful story about E. Woodthorpe (!) & young W.N.: who quarrelled in a boat, & E.W. fell into the water ― W.N. (swimming) picking him out. ― As yet, one cannot get at the rights of the story. ― Hot & fine all day.
