Letter from little Hallam Tennyson.

PETRA THEATRE

Rose at 5¾ & wrote by 6½. ― After breakfast wrote up all the Greek notes, as far as I had done them, in my new Οιδιπους κολονοι.

At 12 called on Mary Chester, who wrote yesterday.

A strange dream is life indeed. It seems but a few days ago ― when they were all at Casa Dies1 ― & now she is grown up ― & they gone. ― Returned at 1 & worked hard till 6. Then walked to Hastings & back.

Dined at 7¼ read Mrs. Schimmel-Penninck.2

A calm pleasant monotony of life ― but for the suspense about money & I wish George were here often. Where is S.W.C.?
