Wrote to Ann
Gray, calm, beautiful morning. Letter from Ann: ― poor dear Ann: I wish she had a better home, yet how can it be changed?
I slept much ([gr.].) ― & only worked by fits on the large Petra ― generalizing. It seems to me quite a chance yet ― even yet, ― if these 3 paintings succeed. Letter from Mrs. G. Clive.
At 5 walked ― upper road ― to Hastings, & back by sea. It‘s warm & calm always. ―
Dined at 7. ― Rain for a time, but at 9 clear again.
