Very bright, & colder. Cough baddish.
Letter from Mr. Edwards with £100 ― from W.S.[D.] Walter. Gussy & Lady Bethell, Mrs. Empson ― & Dr. Henry.
Wrote notes. Worked at Petra.
ˇ[1] Mr. Morier, & ˇ[2] Camberbutch of Constantinople, ― then ˇ[3] Colonel Sykes & ˇ[4] C. [Braken] ― then ˇ[5] Col. Leake ― who staid a longish time: wonderful old gentleman! ―
Then ˇ[6] Sir ˇ[7] Lady, & ˇ[8] Miss Holland. Lastly ˇ[9] Mr. Sayer.
At 4½ walked to call on Gibbs ― (who is returned from America ―) ― & C. Fortescue who is come to town. ―
ˇ[10] Percy Coombe came & passed the evening with me: a good & nice lad ― & greatly improved.
