Late for Musters. ― Fine morning.
S.W.C. gone out shooting.

I wrote notes. ― At 11 walked to Bradgate, ― the old hill & rocks & John tower,1 the bare dry “Morn broadens”2 tree ― the paths & fern & rabbits: the deer: the village of Linford. The exquisite wood scene ― the Bassae trunk ― the lower walk & mill water ―: then back & home by 3: most lovely & enjoyable walk. ―
Did little but play & sing till 6. 6½ S.W.C. came back. Dinner & evening immensely pleasant. ―
Cold better.
