Thick fog. ―
Cough bad. ―
Breakfast 9¾
Very pleasant breakfast & morning: shewing drawings to M. & E. Parkyns. The 2 little children also, ― who are absolutely nice. One, [Rev.] Hildebrand & lunch. ― Wrote notes. Walk with M.P. to a farm house & looked at rooms: & thro’ the village ― a manufacturing one. ― Thick fog ― so I saw nothing.
Sate from 5 to 6 with M. & E.P. ― Dinner ― Rev. Stanley M. Champneys, a dry likeness of Edwd Hornby ― & very deaf. & Mrs. C. ― (an Astley ― & cousin of Augustus Chetwode!) ― Great fun between M.P. & her, & the 2 deaf people. ―
Later sang a good deal. ― After 11 sate with M.P. till 12½. ―
