Sent letters to S.W. Clowes, Mr. Edwards & W. Nevill.
X4
Pouring rain all day. & very dark.
Kitchen flooded with water.
Worked as much as I could at Clive’s dead sea, &c. ― but that very little.
Maj.r Reynolds came & asked me to dine, but I said no. I sate a bit at 4, with P. Williams, & at 5 with the Macbeans.
Came home: dined alone: & wrote to S.W.C.
