Sent letter to Ann.
Cloudy ― & some rain.
Worked pretty hard at the Sandbach Palermo.
Lord Rendlesham came, ― a pleasant hearty & well[-]bred lad. ― Later, Col. Bowen. What he said of G.H. was sad enough, but I fear true: ― and that, with much else, may have had its share in the K.g alienations.
At 4 called on P.W. ― talk of the state of things here, which assuredly grows worse & worse: ― then sate a while with I. Knight. ― & lastly, walked on the silent & gray deserted Pincian. 2 persons only there! ―
Dined. And [επειτα επηρε]1 various μερικους2 boxes: ― for, μου φαινεται, [καλη τουρον ειναι οτι ανα χωρισωμεν].3
A very mad world my masters!
Penned out a Baalbek drawing.
