Cloudy ― but no rain; & afternoon fine.
Packed all the Carpets.
Worked rather better than usual, at Potter’s Palermo, & Mrs. Clive’s Dead Sea. Major Reynolds & Miss Yates came in , ― she is learned.
No letters ― no papers.
At 4½ walked in Borghese. ―
Dined alone.
Dr. Kennedy came in. He repeated some of his translations of the Psalms, wh. seemed to me fine & good.
Going ― at 9½ ― he rushed into the woodhouse & was considerably involved in logs & bother. ― so that [σχεδον τον περι γελασε ι Γεωργιος].1 ―
Penned out the last drawing of Baalbek.
