Frances, Countess Waldegrave
1821-1879.
Daughter of tenor John Braham, she married John James Waldegrave in 1839, his half-brother George Edward (7th Earl), and then George Granville Harcourt. Finally, in 1871, she married Chichester Fortescue, who had been devoted to her for over twenty years. She was one of Lear’s most important patrons.
